A healthy lifestyle involves balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, sufficient sleep, and managing mental well-being to reduce disease risk and improve overall quality of life, focusing on consistent, positive habits like eating fruits/veggies, staying hydrated, exercising daily, limiting processed foods/sugar, and connecting socially. It's about making choices that support your physical, mental, and social health for a longer, more energetic life, rather than just avoiding illness. Core Components Nutrition:  Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains; limit sugar, salt, saturated fats, and processed foods; drink lots of water.    Physical Activity:  Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate activity weekly (e.g., brisk walking, sports, dancing) or 75 minutes vigorous activity, breaking it up if needed.    Sleep:  Get 8-10 hours of quality sleep each night to support physical and mental recovery.    Mental Health:  Manage stress, stay socially connected with friends/family, engage in hobbies, and limit screen time.    Avoid Harmful Habits:  Don't smoke, limit alcohol, and practice safety (seatbelts, helmets). Youtube link:   Normal web link:https://www.tutorialspoint.com/sql/index.htm Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/ Twitter link: https://twitter.com/ https://conta.cc/4mL42ti https://awardfellowships.org/emergingwomeninsciencehttps://networks.h-net.org/group/announcements/20122618/cfp-translation-networks-decolonising-world-1950s-1970s AAP_test@outlook.com https://bw.usembassy.gov/vijayalaxmi@venturit.com malivijaya975@gmail.com https://www.afdb.org/en/vacancy/2026-mo-ibrahim-foundation-leadership-fellowship-program-86981    Understanding Soil Conservation The Role of Soil Conservation in Sustainable Tree Plantation Major Threats to Soil Health Effective Soil Conservation Practices for Tree Plantation The Benefits of Soil and Water Conservation The Role of Organic Farming in Soil Conservation The Importance of Community Participation in Soil Conservation Conclusion FAQs Read more

  • What are the health benefits of exercise?
Help you get to and stay at a healthy weight. Along with diet, exercise plays an important role in maintaining a healthy weight and preventing obesity. If you are at a healthy weight, you can maintain it if the calories you eat and drink are equal to the amount of energy you burn. To lose weight, you need to use more calories than you eat and drink. Reduce your risk of heart diseases. Exercise strengthens your heart and improves your circulation. The increased blood flow raises the oxygen levels in your body. This helps lower your risk of heart diseases such as coronary artery disease and heart attack. Regular exercise can also lower high blood pressure, cholesterol, and triglyceride levels, all of which are risk factors for heart disease. Help your body manage blood glucose (blood sugar) and insulin levels. Exercise can lower your blood glucose levels and help your insulin work better. This can reduce your risk of metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. And if you already have one of these diseases, exercise can help you manage it. Help you manage a chronic health condition. For example, regular physical activity may help reduce pain and improve function in adults with arthritis. It can also help support daily living activities for people with disabilities. This may help them be more independent. Help you quit smoking. Exercise may make it easier to quit smoking by reducing your cravings and withdrawal symptoms. It can also help limit the weight you might gain when you stop smoking. Improve your mental health and mood. During exercise, your body releases chemicals that can improve your mood and make you feel more relaxed. This can help you deal with stress, manage anxiety, and reduce your risk of depression. Help keep your thinking, learning, and judgment skills sharp as you age. Exercise stimulates your body to release proteins and other chemicals that improve the structure and function of your brain. Strengthen your bones and muscles. Regular exercise can help kids and teens build strong bones. Later in life, it can also slow the loss of bone density that comes with age. Doing muscle-strengthening activities can help you increase or maintain your muscle mass and strength. For older adults, this can mean staying independent, like being able to get in and out of a chair or bed without help. Read more

  • YT normal video - Follow these tips to keep your teeth and gums healthy:
Brush your teeth twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. Clean between teeth regularly, aiming for once a day. Use dental floss or a special brush or wooden or plastic pick recommended by a dental professional. Or try a floss holder, floss threader, or water flosser. Visit the dentist for routine check-ups and professional cleaning. If you are at a high risk for tooth decay (for example, if you have a dry mouth because of medicines you take), your dentist or dental hygienist may give you a fluoride treatment, such as a varnish or foam during the office visit. Or, the dentist may recommend a fluoride gel or mouth rinse for home use. If you are at higher risk for gum disease because of a medical condition (for example, diabetes), your dentist may want to see you more frequently. Read more

A healthy eating plan: Emphasizes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat dairy products Includes lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts Limits saturated and trans fats, sodium, and added sugars Controls portion sizes Calories To lose weight, most people need to reduce the number of calories they get from food and beverages (energy IN) and increase their physical activity (energy OUT). For a weight loss of 1–1 ½ pounds per week, daily intake should be reduced by 500 to 750 calories. In general: Eating plans that contain 1,200–1,500 calories each day will help most women lose weight safely. Eating plans that contain 1,500–1,800 calories each day are suitable for men and for women who weigh more or who exercise regularly. Very low calorie diets of fewer than 800 calories per day should not be used unless you are being monitored by your doctor. 10 TIPS FOR MAINTAINING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE AND BODY WEIGHT
At this extreme moment, we began working from home, away from campus, and keeping social distance for as many people as possible. As we stay home and are stuck with the foods that have been in our fridge or pantry for a while, we are temporarily living a sedentary lifestyle with increased odds of physical inactivity, excessive eating and sitting, stress, anxiety, and depression. In particular, many of us will gain some weight during the pandemic and may keep the extra weight permanently, which may carry considerable health risks for type 2 diabetes, hypertension, heart attack, stroke, and other health problems. Here, I’d like to share some basic tips and resources for how to maintain your healthy lifestyle, body weight, and overall well-being while staying home and engaging in social distancing. Measure and Watch Your Weight Keeping track of your body weight on a daily or weekly basis will help you see what you’re losing and/or what you’re gaining. Limit Unhealthy Foods and Eat Healthy Meals Do not forget to eat breakfast and choose a nutritious meal with more protein and fiber and less fat, sugar, and calories. For more information on weight-control foods and dietary recommendations, please check the following website: www.hsph.harvard.edu/obesity-prevention-source/obesity-causes/diet-and-weight/. Take Multivitamin Supplements To make sure you have sufficient levels of nutrients, taking a daily multivitamin supplement is a good idea, especially when you do not have a variety of vegetables and fruits at home. Many micronutrients are vital to your immune system, including vitamins A, B6, B12, C, D, and E, as well as zinc, iron, copper, selenium, and magnesium. However, there’s currently NO available evidence that adding any supplements or “miracle mineral supplements” to your diet will help protect you from the virus or increase recovery. In some cases, high doses of vitamins can be bad for your health. Drink Water and Stay Hydrated, and Limit Sugared Beverages Drink water regularly to stay healthy, but there is NO evidence that drinking water frequently (e.g. every 15 minutes) can help prevent any viral infection. For more information on drinking water and coronavirus, please check the following EPA website: www.epa.gov/coronavirus/coronavirus-and-drinking-water-and-wastewater. Read more
