ADHD and School interventions

Interventions must be based upon assessment data that includes information about the student’s strengths and needs as well as the environmental conditions in which her characteristics of ADHD occur. Progress monitoring and strategy adjustments are critical to the success of any intervention plan (Wolraich & DuPaul, 2010). The first step in creating classroom supports for students with ADHD is understanding thestudents’ strengths and needs. This involves formal and informal assessment, as well ascollaboration among educational professionals and the students’ families. If a student is not responsive to behavioral strategies and interventions, more intensive interventions, such as functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention plans, should be considered (see Practical FBA). No one intervention is universally effective for all students with ADHD. A combination of research-based and promising practices is recommended. Here are several of these practices: Giving DirectionsMany students with ADHD have trouble following directions. Here are some guidelines that might help address this problem. Number of Directions: Give a minimal number of directions or steps at a time.If necessary, have students repeat the directions to the teacher or a peer partner. Form of Directions: Provide written directions or steps, or a visual model of acompleted project. Teach students how to refer to these items as reminders ofprocess steps to complete tasks. This strategy is particularly helpful for long-termprojects. Written AssignmentsMany students with ADHD have particular challenges with written work due to finemotorskills difficulties, motor planning issues, and difficulty alternating their attentionfrom a book to their written responses. Students with ADHD may also need assistance breaking a larger task or project into smaller, more workable units. The following strategies can be used to address these needs.

A full mouth radiographic series (FMX) consists of 20 images composed of periapical (16) and bitewing (4) projections. Periapical radiographs are intended to evaluate the periapical region of the tooth and surrounding bone. Therefore, it is essential to obtain the full length of the tooth and at least 2 mm of periapical bone. Bitewing radiographs record, on a single image, the crowns and coronal 1/3 of the interproximal bone of both arches. Bitewings are useful for detecting interproximal carious lesions, bone height, pulp chamber size and shape, pulp stones, and overhangs on interproximal restorations. It is therefore essential to position the image receptor and x-ray beam so that there is an equal distribution of both arches in the resulting radiographic image. Instrument Assembly: The Rinn XCP Instrument for a full mouth series (FMX) of x-rays consists of 3 parts: 1. 3 biteblocks for the anterior, posterior, and bitewing set-ups. 2. 3 Indicator rods for the anterior, posterior, and bitewing set-ups. 3. 2 Aiming rings for the anterior, posterior, and bitewing set-ups. a. In archeological excavations 250 km south of Baghdad extraction pots (Figure 1.1 ) from about 3500 BC were found [1] , made from a hard, sandy material presumably air - dried brick earth. It is supposed that in the circular channel was the solid feed, which was extracted by a Soxhlet - like procedure with water or oil. The solvent vapors were condensed at the cap, possibly cooled by wet rags. The condensate then did the leaching and was fed back through holes in the channel to the bottom.

Properties and Uses of Bar Magnet

A bar magnet has properties similar to any permanent magnet. It has a north pole and a south pole at two ends. Even if you break a bar magnet from the middle, both the pieces will still have a north pole and a south pole, no matter how many pieces you break it in. The magnetic force of it is the strongest at the pole. If this magnet is suspended freely in the air with a thread, it will not come to rest until the poles are aligned in a north-south position. A Mariner’s Compass uses this property to determine direction. If two bar magnets are placed close to each other, their unlike poles will attract and like poles will repel each other. A bar magnet will attract all ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel and cobalt. Uses of Bar Magnet Bar magnets are used as stirrers in laboratory for magnetic experiments. They also find applications in medical procedures. Electronic devices such as telephones, radios, and television sets use magnets. Many industries use bar magnets for the collection of loose metals and also for retaining magnetism of other magnets.
