  • Natural Plant Products: A Less Focused Aspect for the COVID-19 Viral Outbreak
    The sudden emergence of COVID-19 caused by a novel coronavirus (nCoV) led the entire world to search for relevant solutions to fight the pandemic. Although continuous trials are being conducted to develop precise vaccines and therapeutic antibodies, a potential remedy is yet to be developed. Plants have largely contributed to the treatment of several human diseases and different phytoconstituents have been previously described to impede the replication of numerous viruses. Despite the previous positive reports of plant-based medications, no successful clinical trials of phyto-anti-COVID drugs could be conducted to date. In this article, we discuss varying perspectives on why phyto-anti-viral drug clinical trials were not successful in the case of COVID-19. The issue has been discussed in light of the usage of plant-based therapeutics in previous coronavirus outbreaks. Through this article, we aim to identify the disadvantages in this research area and suggest some measures to ensure that phytoconstituents can efficiently contribute to future random viral outbreaks. It is emphasized that if used strategically phyto-inhibitors with pre-established clinical data for other diseases can save the time required for long clinical trials. The scientific community should competently tap into phytoconstituents and take their research up to the final stage of clinical trials so that potential phyto-anti-COVID drugs can be developed.

    The "greenhouse effect" is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a greenhouse, hence the name. Sunlight shines onto the Earth's surface, where the energy is absorbed and then radiate back into the atmosphere as heat. In the atmosphere, greenhouse gas molecules trap some of the heat, and the rest escapes into space. The more greenhouse gases concentrate in the atmosphere, the more heat gets locked up in the molecules.

  • ADHD and School interventions
    School interventions should include a team approach across multiple settings, consisting of bothpreventive and intervention strategies.    Interventions must be based upon assessment data that includes information about the student’s strengths and needs as well as the environmental conditions in which her characteristics of ADHD occur.    Progress monitoring and strategy adjustments are critical to the success of any intervention plan (Wolraich & DuPaul, 2010).   The first step in creating classroom supports for students with ADHD is understanding thestudents’ strengths and needs. This involves formal and informal assessment, as well ascollaboration among educational professionals and the students’ families.    If a student is not responsive to behavioral strategies and interventions, more intensive interventions, such as functional behavior assessment and behavior intervention plans, should be considered (see Practical FBA).    No one intervention is universally effective for all students with ADHD.     Without ecosystem services, life on Earth as we know it wouldn’t exist. There are four main categories of ecosystem services: Provisioning services refer to the products secured by ecosystems. These include:   • Water • Food (including cattle and seafood) • Pharmaceuticals, biochemicals, and industrial products • Energy (sunlight, hydropower, biomass) Regulating services are the ecosystem services that allow the regulation of ecosystem processes such as: • Climate regulation (and carbon absorption and storage via the oceans, trees, soil) • Waste decomposition (one of the most essential microbial process happening in soil) • Crop pollination (performed by agents such as bees that contribute to the reproduction of flowering plants) • Water and air purification and regulation • Control of pests and diseases Supporting and habitat services refer to the ability of ecosystems to give habitat for migratory species and to support the viability of gene-pools.This is possible thanks to: • Primary reproduction • Nutrient and seed dispersal Cultural services are the benefits ecosystem services bring to humans.
